Prof. Dr. Huynh Dai Phu,

I am Namchul Cho, assistant Prof. of Energy System Engineering in Soonchunhyang University in Korea.

My apologies if this email caused you any inconveniences.

I’m sending this email because I and other two faculty members (Prof. Jung and Prof. An) in our department are

recruiting graduate students. We would be very grateful if you could pass on information about our department to students who are interested in energy related research.

Our research interests are focused on renewable energy materials and devices. We actively study solar cells, energy storage systems, and fuel cells. Our research field can be checked on the personal website as below,

In addition, our departments can be found on the homepage of our department.

We are currently recruiting graduate students for the purpose of admission in March 2018.

Students who graduated from the department of chemistry, materials engineering, chemical engineering, polymer engineering, and other related area can enter the program.

The applicants should have GPA 3.0 out of 4.5.

Korean language proficiency is not required.

If applicants have an English score such as TOEFL, it is more advantageous for admission.

However, if applicants can show their English proficiency in interview then we can still accept them.

Students can take an exam either TOEFL or English test in our university (this is easier than TOEFL) at any time during graduate course but sould pass it before they graduate.

Our departmnet will support a dormitory fee (about $ 700 / month) and a tuition fee (about $ 5400 / semester) for all graduate students.

We will also provide a monthly salary for graduate students.

All classes will be conducted in English and the communication necessary for research will also be conducted in English. If you find students who are interested in our department in Vietnam, three professors from our department will be able to interview students directly at the end of November or early December in Vietnam or via skype. If students want to apply to our department, they have to apply until January 5, 2018. Once you find interested students, you can give us a schedule then we will arrange flight schedule to visit Vietnam or make a schedule for skype interview. If we need to visit Vietnam, we prefer to flight on Thursday and interview on Friday and Saturday and then return Korea on Sunday. But if such a schedule is difficult, we will arrange our schedule again. I would like to thank you again for your help in recruiting students for our department and I would appreciate it if this would be a good starting point for our long-term partnership with you as well as our department.

Sincerely yours,

Namchul Cho
